General Centre Operations
Q. What are the operating hours of 123 Busy Beavers Learning Centres?
A. The operating hours of most of our Centres is between 6.30am and 6.30pm, however some centres may have slightly different operating hours. For more information, please contact a Centre Director in your local area or

Q. What are some of the experiences my child will engage in at the Centre?
A. At 123 Busy Beavers, we aim to create a total learning environment where children are free to observe, question, experiment and explore. A wide range of activities are utilized to aid the cognitive, social, emotional and physical development of each child. Activities may involve books, puzzles, blocks, music, arts, role play and outdoor play. For more information, please see Our Programs.
Q. Do the children go on any field trips outside of the Centre?
A. We do occasionally conduct field trips which take children away from the centre and are designed to further enhance their learning experiences. Parents are informed in advance of any planned excursions and are required to give written permission for their children to participate in these trips.
Centre Fees
Q. What are the fees involved?
A. Fees vary depending on the individual centre's fee schedule and the child care subsidy to which a family is entitled. The amount of the subsidy varies depending on net family income, family size and number of hours of child care used each month.
Q. How do I pay my child care fees?
A. If direct debit facilities are not used, fees are payable 1 month in advance. EFTPOS and Direct Deposit are our preferred payment methods. For any other payment enquiries, please contact your Centre Director.
Q. Will I incur a fee if I am unable to pick up my child before the Centre's closing time?
A. A late fee of $5 for 15 minutes or part thereof will be charged to any family who has not collected their child/ren from the centre by closing time. This is at the discretion of the Centre Director.
Food & Nutrition
Q. Does 123 Busy Beavers Learning Centres provide meals and snacks?
A. At the centres that provide food, children are offered nutritional meals throughout the day based on health requirements.
Q. What if my child has allergies to certain types of food?
A. We will accommodate and provide alternative meals where children have allergic reactions to certain types of food. Centre Personnel will be aware of such cases, as information regarding children's allergies and dietary requirements are addressed in the enrolment process that parents must complete prior to the commencement of their child's care.
Centre Personnel
Q. What qualifications do Centre Personnel hold?
A. As required by the child care Regulation, all our Centre Personnel have training in early childhood education (ECE). All staff hold either a Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 certificate in early childhood education.
Q. What is the staff to child ratio?
A. Ratios vary across classrooms and provinces. 123 Busy Beavers Learning Centres meets or exceeds the respective ratio requirements. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to talk with the Centre Director.
Parental Involvement
Q. If I wanted to have a look at a Centre, do I need to make an appointment?
A. We have an "Open Door" policy at each centre. We encourage parents to visit our Centres and experience the programs and variety of early childhood services we offer hands on.
Q. How do I remain involved and up-to-date with my child's progress?
A. We encourage parents' feedback on our programs and promote open and regular communication between parents and Centre Personnel. Communication books in each of our rooms promote a sharing of information about the children's day while at the centre. Parents are encouraged to share their ideas and suggestions. We also maintain regular communication through informal discussions, parent evenings, newsletters and special events.
Q. Do you require parents to volunteer in any way at the Centre?
A. Parents are not required to volunteer at the centre, however, opportunities exist for parents who are willing, to do so by sharing special skills such as cooking or music, or by collecting recycled materials for art or helping at social functions.
